Newly Rebranded Boston Commons

Newly Rebranded Boston Commons

Newly renamed Boston Commons in the East End of Nashville has some exciting news… rebranding!

Formerly known as Batter’d and Fried is now Boston Commons. Same location and same great taste, just a few changes.

I got a chance to chat with the owner of Boston Commons, Matthew Charette. We were able to talk about what brought along the rebranding, the new menu, and some of the struggles of Boston Commons.

Rebranding of Boston Commons comes from the competitive Nashville scene said Charette. When Boston Commons first opened their doors as Batter’d and fried, they found themselves as a locally owned restaurant trying to appeal to a wide variety of potential customers in the area. Now there are more new restaurants that are more focused where we were trying to accommodate everyone said Charette. Their original name even seemed to cause a bit of hesitant to customers, “Our name was not as appealing to newcomers”, stated Charette.

Open! Right through those doors is the catch of the day. Wether that be an order of fish and chips or a catch by Christian Vázquez.

The menu is also getting a fresh new look as well.

“We are bringing the best from Batter’d and fried forward,” said Charette.

The original menu consisted of 160 great-tasting options that will now be incorporated into a menu of 60 to 70  items to be able to keep great quality of each dish for every order. Of course, the fan-favorite, Chef’s fish and chips will be brought along into the new menu. The fish and chips accounts for 20% of sales at Boston Commons said Charette.  Now if that doesn’t show the great quality of cod being served. I don’t know what will?

Nashville is becoming such a competitive food scene, it's hard for restaurants like Boston Commons who were once trying to bring everyone into their door. Now, these restaurants are trying to find what makes them unique in a city full of chain restaurants.

I decided to take a look into how many restaurants have recently opened their doors to the Nashville area. After looking at the Visit Nashville TN website, I learned that 17 restaurants have newly opened their doors to the Nashville public and 19 new restaurants plan to open in the Nashville area.

That’s a lot of grown happening around these small locally owned restaurants like Boston Commons.

Even though there are so many new places opening and coming soon. I feel like Boston Commons is like no other restaurant in Nashville. After one visit to Boston Commons, it's not difficult to tell what makes them special from the rest. Fresh and high-quality seafood with a side of all Boston sporting events. If you’re in the mood for a Red Sox’sgame with an order of oysters on a half shell or some fish and chips, I guarantee you that you won't find a place as perfect as Boston Commons.

Boston Commons is “a place to eat, drink, and gather,” said Charette.

And I couldn't agree more.
